Fit tips
TRILHO runs snug by design so the fit stays put. If you are between sizes, prefer a softer feel, or have muscular thighs or glutes, order one size up.
A. Waist: Measure around your natural waistline, the narrowest part of your torso, keeping the tape horizontal.
B. Hips: Measure around the fullest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape horizontal.
Use a soft measuring tape over bare skin or thin underwear. Keep the tape level and snug without pulling it tight.
Built for the problems hikers actually feel
Stays put
Cut to reduce creeping when you climb, descend, sit, and move for hours.
Won't dig in
Wide waistband sits smooth under leggings and pack hip belts without sharp pressure.
Breathes on climbs
Wool-blend fabric helps reduce that swampy feeling when the trail gets hot.
Keeps its shape
Nylon and elastane help the fit recover after movement and washing.
FRILA™, our merino blend
Wool-blend comfort without the scratchy sweater feeling.
FRILA™ is our wool-rich performance blend: soft against skin, breathable on climbs, and built with stretch so the fit does not bag out.
Not the itchy kind
Fine merino, not scratchy sweater wool.
Cooler than its reputation
Breathes on hot, humid trail days.
Fresher for longer
Resists odor when laundry is days away.
Blended to last
Nylon and elastane hold the fit and shape.
What is FRILA?
Fine merino for softness and natural odor resistance, blended with nylon and elastane for durability and stretch. Every TRILHO cut is knit from it.
How it wears on trail
Moves heat on the climb, feels fresher than cotton on day two, and stays put through hipbelts and leggings.
Off the trail
Works under jeans and dresses, through workouts, flights, and sleep.
Why hikers trust TRILHO
In early wear testing:
said it stayed secure on the move
said the waistband stayed smooth
said they would pack another pair

Questions hikers ask before the first mile
Will these ride up when I hike?
They are cut for stay-put hipster coverage, with smooth leg openings and a knitted waistband that anchors the fit through climbs, descents, and long stretches of sitting. The snug sizing is part of that promise, which is why we tell you to size up rather than cutting the fit looser.
Does the wool feel itchy?
No, and this is the most common worry we hear. FRILA™ uses fine underwear-grade merino rather than the coarse wool that sweaters are made from. The fabric sits smooth against skin, with nylon for durability and elastane for stretch.
Will these feel too hot in summer?
They are made with a lightweight wool blend, not thick winter wool. The goal is breathable comfort on warm climbs, with nylon and elastane added for durability, stretch, and shape recovery.
How should I choose my size?
The fit is snug by design so the pair stays put. If you are between sizes, prefer a softer feel, or have muscular thighs or glutes, order one size up.
How much coverage does it have in back?
The cut is a mid-rise hipster with moderate-to-full coverage in back. You get more coverage than a bikini and less bulk than a full brief, and the fit is designed to keep that coverage in place while you move.
What is the fabric made from?
Every pair is knitted from FRILA™, our merino blend of 82.3% wool, 12.3% nylon, and 5.4% elastane. The merino brings softness, breathability, and natural odor resistance, the nylon adds durability, and the elastane helps the fit recover after every wear.
Can I wear these under leggings or a pack hip belt?
Yes. The low-bulk hipster cut and knitted waistband are made to lie smooth under hiking pants, leggings, and backpack hipbelts without rolling or digging in.
Will they show under leggings?
They are low-bulk for hiking pants and leggings, but they are not a thong or seamless no-show style. If zero panty line is your top priority, a thong may be better. If stay-put coverage is your priority, this is the better trail cut.
How do I wash them, and how long do they take to dry?
Machine wash cold on gentle or wash by hand, skip the fabric softener, and hang to dry. Plan on overnight drying, since merino dries slower than gym synthetics. That tradeoff is what buys you the softness and the breathability.
